Origin: (proximal attachments):
a. Lateral portion of posterior, proximal tibia.
b. Interosseous membrane.
c. Medial portion of posterior, proximal half of fibula.

Insertion: (distal attachments):
Navicular tuberosity, cuneiforms, cuboid, 2-4 metatarsals, and sustentaculum tali of calcaneus.
