Origin: (proximal attachments)
a.Ischial tuberosity of os coxa.
Insertion: (distal attachments)
a.Posterior medial condyle of tibia.
Actions of Semimembranosus on the leg (tibia & fibula):
a. Flexes leg at knee.
b. Medially rotates leg at knee when knee is flexed.
